Kate Winslet has opened up about how “terrible” her life was after her Titanic fame.

Winslet said that after Titanic she liked to play smaller roles.

“Because, imagine, being famous was terrible. Of course I appreciate it. I was in my early twenties when I was able to buy an apartment. “But I didn’t want someone following me and literally feeding the ducks.”

Winslet said in 2022 that after Titanic, her body was subjected to relentless ridicule and criticism.

“Apparently, I was very fat,” she told the Happy Sad Disturbed podcast. Why did they mistreat me so much? They were very mean. “I wasn’t that fat.”

Speaking to Radio Times in 2022 about filming Titanic with Winslet, director James Cameron said the actress was “a bit shocked” by the scale of the film’s production.

Winslet clearly said that despite these problems, she has no regrets: “I don’t regret it, not at all. [Titanic] still makes people happy. “The only time I say, ‘Oh my God, come on,’ is when I’m on a boat somewhere.”
