Royal Wedding: The Duke of Westminster is godfather to Prince William’s son George and Prince Harry’s son Archie!
Hugh Grosvenor, the 7th Duke of Westminster and one of Britain’s richest men, married Olivia Henson at Chester Cathedral, a centuries-old Gothic church in England.
Royal Wedding, According to the New York Times, despite strong winds, hundreds of people gathered around the church to witness the wedding of the 33-year-old Duke and 31-year-old Duchess and guests including William, Prince of Wales and a close friend of the groom.

The bride arrived in a vintage 1930s Bentley with her father, Rupert Henson, in a silk crepe satin dress.
In a special move that spoke volumes for the kind of connection she has with her husband and family, the bride completed her look with a bespoke Emma Victoria Payne shirt and lace and blue velvet heels by Silvia Lago, along with a tiara made for Grosvenor brides.
Royal Wedding, The Fabergé tiara consists of two rows of mulberry leaves, with stems and leaves carved in red gold. In Greek mythology, the leaves of the sacred plant of Aphrodite are the goddess of beauty. This tiara has been in the Grosvenor family since it was made in 1906.
After the wedding ceremony, around 400 guests went to Eton Hall, which has been the Duke’s family home since 1400, to celebrate the union.
The Duke, the only son of Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor, inherited the house and title in 2016 aged 25 when his father, the 6th Duke of Westminster, died of a heart attack. Although the duke has two older sisters, according to the rule of primogeniture the male heir takes precedence over the female regardless of age.
Royal Wedding, The Duke’s fortune was estimated at $12 billion at the time of his father’s death, and has since grown to about $13 billion, according to the Sunday Times Rich List, published this year. His wealth is several times that of the British royal family. The latest estimate of Queen Elizabeth II’s personal wealth in 2022 was nearly $400 million.

The Duke’s family has released little information about the bride. Olivia attended Marlborough College, the same school where Catherine and Pippa Middleton attended. According to the New York Times, he was an accounting employee of a commercial company.
The couple met through mutual friends and dated for two years before announcing their engagement.
Royal Wedding, British media reported that Prince Harry, who is also a close friend of the duke, declined his invitation to the wedding due to concerns that his presence and differences with other members of the royal family would distract attention from the bride and groom.
According to the Independent, the Duke is godfather to Prince William’s son George and Prince Harry’s son Archie. The Duke’s mother, Natalia Grosvenor, is a descendant of Tsar Nicholas I of Russia and Alexander Pushkin, one of Prince William’s godmothers.
