North West Sets Boundaries: Declares Mom Kim Kardashian’s Glam Squad Off-Limits For Hollywood Bowl Performance
North West: North West was determined to have her big moment center solely on her—and that meant ensuring her mom, Kim Kardashian, didn’t steal the spotlight, even unintentionally.
During the Feb. 20 episode of The Kardashians, the 11-year-old, who was preparing for her role in The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl, made it clear to her glam squad that their focus should remain entirely on her. The SKIMS founder, 44, quickly realized that North had laid down a firm rule: her hairstylists were not allowed to work on Kim’s hair.
As Kim sat in the dressing room, a hairstylist whispered to her that North had specifically instructed them not to do her hair. The reality star had a moment of realization—one that reminded her of her own mother, Kris Jenner.
North West, Reflecting on her past, Kim recalled how Kris would always ask her glam team for last-minute touch-ups whenever she was getting ready. “She would walk in and, without fail, ask for powder or check her lip. And I’d always think, ‘Mom, this isn’t about you, this is my glam team.’”
That’s when it hit her—she was doing the exact same thing.
Kim Kardashian’s ‘Momager’ Moment
North West, In a confessional, Kim admitted, “Right before the show, I found myself asking North’s glam team, ‘How’s my lip? Do you have any powder?’ and suddenly, I gasped—I was Kris Jenner. I couldn’t believe it. I am Kris Jenner.”
Laughing at her realization, she added, “I can never complain about my mom again.”
Like Mother, Like Daughter
North West, The Kardashian family’s strong personalities seem to run in the genes. Fans have often pointed out similarities between North and Kim, especially after Entertainment Tonight compiled a throwback clip of Kim as a teenager alongside North’s Interview Magazine feature. The video showed North confidently introducing herself and striking playful poses—just as Kim had done at her eighth-grade graduation.
Kim reshared the comparison on Instagram with the caption, “North West Brings the Same Energy as Her Mom.” Fans couldn’t help but notice the uncanny resemblance in their attitudes.
Kim’s Unexpected New Role
North West, In addition to raising North, Kim is also busy managing her other children—Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5—whom she shares with Kanye West. Now, on top of being a business mogul, actress, and fashion icon, she’s stepping into another role: momager.
“I thought I was busy before, but managing North’s career is next level,” Kim admitted. “This was not on my 2025 Bingo card.”
Her sister Khloé chimed in, saying, “You’ve got enough on your plate already,” to which Kim agreed, “I’m not ready for this.”
North West, With North’s rising presence in the entertainment world, it seems like Kim is getting a taste of what Kris went through—whether she’s ready or not.
