Kate Garraway is said to be keeping a bedside vigil by her husband after he suffered a huge heart attack, it’s been reported.
The Good Morning presenter has taken an indefinite leave of absence from work due to the family emergency involving Derek Draper, the Express reports.
Kate Garraway, Derek, a 56-year-old dad-of-two has been in a vulnerable condition since being badly impacted by contracting Covid in 2020. Reports say he suffered the heart attack on Monday.

Kate’s spokesman confirmed to the Sun: “Derek has been taken very seriously ill this week. He is a fighter and we are all praying for him to win this latest battle.”
Kate Garraway, Derek has battled several serious health problems after being rushed to hospital with Covid in March 2020. He spent 13 months in hospital with the virus, making him Britain’s longest suffering Coronavirus victim, and was put into a coma at the time.
Kate Garraway, A source told the Sun: “Everyone is praying for a miracle. Derek suffered a massive heart attack earlier this week which has left him fighting for his life all over again.
Kate Garraway, “It was sudden and a shock as he had been doing so well and was in great spirits, looking forward to Christmas at home with the family. This setback has been a huge blow for his family and all the people caring for him.
Kate Garraway, “Kate is by his side 24 hours a day and is willing him on to win this latest battle for his life.” The source added that Kate and the children she shares with Derek, Darcey and Billy, are “trying to manage their expectations of a family Christmas“.
