Fashion Awards 2024: Two designers from Turkey are among the nominees for the most prestigious fashion award of the year.
The British Fashion Council (BFC) selects the best in fashion each year from experienced designers with decades of expertise to emerging talents. The annual British Fashion Council awards ceremony will be held on December 2 in London.
Chamena Kamali, John Galliano, Jonathan Anderson (for Anderson and Loewe), Miuccia Prada (for Miu Miu), Pieter Mulier, and Rick Owens are nominated for the Best Designer of 2024 award.
Fashion Awards 2024, According to the British Fashion Council, this award honors British or international designers whose collections have had a significant impact on the fashion industry and have “defined the shape of global fashion.” Last year, Anderson was selected as Designer of the Year.

Nominees for the Best British Menswear Designer are Craig Green, Grace Wales Bonner, Anderson, Kiko Kostadinov, Kim Jones, and Martine Rose, who won last year’s award.
Nominees for the Best British Womenswear Designer are Erdem Moralıoğlu, Anderson, Maximilian Davis (last year’s winner), Roksanda Ilincic, and Simone Rocha.
Fashion Awards 2024, The Emerging (New Establishment) Menswear category, reintroduced in 2023, includes Aaron Esh, Foday Dumbuya, Nicholas Daley, Priya Ahluwalia, and Stefan Cooke and Jake Burt (jointly for their work in the brand Stefan Cooke).
In the womenswear category, Dilara Findikoglu, Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena (jointly for Chopova Lowena), Jawara Alleyne, and Laura and Deanna Fanning (jointly for Kiko Kostadinov) and Marco Capaldo are nominated. Bianca Saunders and Chopova Lowena won last year in the menswear and womenswear categories, respectively.
The 2024 nominees were determined by a panel of press and buyers who presented the list to a voting committee of 1,000 prominent members of the fashion industry.
Fashion Awards 2024, The British Fashion Council previously announced that Tyler Mitchell, artist, photographer, and filmmaker, will receive the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator. Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, said in a statement, “Mitchell’s work is incredibly innovative and pioneering, telling authentic and distinct stories of Black identity.”
The Fashion Awards were established in 1989 to raise funds for the BFC Foundation. The foundation provides funding and business advice for emerging designers and fashion houses based in the UK.
