Catherine Zeta-Jones Returns To Swansea For Amazon Prime’s New Thriller

Catherine Zeta-Jones: Oscar-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is set to return to her hometown of Swansea to film Kill Jackie, a new revenge thriller for Amazon Prime Video.

The series, based on Nick Harkaway’s novel The Price You Pay (written under his pseudonym Aidan Truhen), marks a nostalgic homecoming for the Chicago star, who hails from the Mumbles area.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, According to Prime Video, production on the eight-part series will kick off in March, with filming locations including Swansea, Bilbao, Lisbon, and London.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Beyond taking the lead role, Zeta-Jones, 55, will also serve as an executive producer. Expressing her excitement, she said she is “thrilled” to take part both in front of and behind the camera.

She will portray Jackie Price, a glamorous jet-setter desperate to remain under the radar after fleeing her dangerous past as an international cocaine trafficker, according to Amazon Prime’s description of the plot.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, The actress emphasized that she is particularly eager to bring to life a female-driven narrative that explores themes of empowerment, identity, and redemption.

A Stellar Creative Team

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kill Jackie is being co-produced by Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures and is expected to premiere in 2026, though an official release date has yet to be announced.

The series brings together a powerhouse creative team, with Damon Thomas, known for his work on the BBC spy thriller Killing Eve, leading as director, and Tom Butterworth, the writer and showrunner behind Gangs of London, adapting the screenplay.

Butterworth stated that their ambition is to twist and expand Harkaway’s original novel into something “equally funny, dark, and thrilling—or die trying.”

A Star With Deep Welsh Roots

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Although Zeta-Jones and her husband, Michael Douglas, own multiple homes worldwide—including properties in California, Spain, and Swansea—the Welsh-born star often shares her love for her homeland.

In April 2024, she sparked excitement among fans when she posted a photo of a rainbow over the Mumbles on Instagram, igniting speculation about her return.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Known for her Academy Award-winning performance in Chicago (2002), her swashbuckling role in The Legend of Zorro (2005), and her more recent portrayal of Morticia Addams in Netflix’s Wednesday (2022), Zeta-Jones has long been a Hollywood favorite.

In 2011, she was honored as a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for her contributions to film and charity.
