Catherine And William To Bake Welsh Cakes During South Wales Visit: February 22

Catherine And William: The Prince and Princess of Wales are set to visit South Wales next week as part of their engagements leading up to St David’s Day.
Kate, who is gradually resuming public duties following her cancer treatment, will accompany William on a visit to Pontypridd on February 26.
During their trip, they will meet local residents affected by the severe flooding caused by Storm Bert and Storm Darragh, which devastated the region within two weeks in late 2024.
Catherine And William, The couple will explore Pontypridd Market, a historic marketplace that has been a community staple since 1805. They will tour the food hall, meet local vendors, and try their hand at preparing and cooking traditional Welsh cakes.
While at the market, they will visit The Welsh Cake Shop, a well-known business that has been serving the community for over 25 years. The shop is also famous for its traditional Welsh fruit bread, bara brith.

At the Fountain Café within the market, William and Kate will engage with business owners to discuss the challenges they faced due to the recent flooding.
Catherine And William, The couple will also visit Meadow Street Community Garden and Woodland, where they will learn about the site’s impact on the local area and how volunteers helped restore it after the storms.
Kate, who announced her cancer remission in January, has been making more public appearances since the start of the year, including a recent visit to a mother and baby unit in a women’s prison in Cheshire.
King Charles III officially named William the Prince of Wales in his first televised address as monarch following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. Before their marriage, William and Kate lived in Wales for several years, including their time in Anglesey as newlyweds.
Catherine And William, Their visit to South Wales comes just days before St David’s Day on March 1, which honors the patron saint of Wales.
King Charles, in his time as Prince of Wales, visited Pontypridd in 2020 after severe flooding from Storm Dennis. In 2015, he and then-Duchess of Cornwall, now Queen Camilla, also took part in baking Welsh cakes during a visit to the Village Bakery in Wrexham.
