My Advice For Prince Harry’s Hair – From A Royal Stylist

Prince Harry: I used to cut Prince Harry’s hair when he was a boy, and he had one of the best heads of hair—thick, lush, and full, just like his mother and brother.

But as a hairdresser, I can’t help but notice what’s happening now. That fluff on his head? It’s not doing him any favors. It gives off “1950s geography teacher” vibes, and for a man in his prime, who’s fit and lean, it’s time to make a change.

Prince Harry, Now, I’m not criticizing him. I say this because I’ve been there myself. I started losing my hair in my early 30s, and I remember bleaching it white just because I knew I wouldn’t have the chance again. For a while, I held onto a little fluff—but not as much as Harry. Eventually, I shaved it off, and I’ve never looked back.

Honestly, if I were his age, I’d get a hair transplant in a heartbeat. The technology is incredible now. What Harry has going on is aging him—he looks like he’s in his 50s. Maybe he doesn’t care, and that’s fine. But if he did something about it, I truly believe he’d feel rejuvenated. And I’m surprised his wife hasn’t nudged him in that direction yet. He’s in LA—the best place for a hair transplant! He could easily get it done, disappear for a month, and no one would even notice.

To Shave Or To Transplant? That Is The Question

Prince Harry

Prince Harry, The thing with Harry is that he’s a good-looking guy. He’s tall, he’s dressing better, he’s in great shape—but then there’s that hair. As someone who’s spent decades making people look their best, it’s hard not to think about what could be done.

When I used to cut his hair as a kid, he just wanted it over with. He wasn’t into styling, unlike William, who loved his hair gel. And speaking of William—he was mocked for going bald, but now he looks better than ever with his short, clean cut. Harry, on the other hand, made comments about William’s hair loss in Spare—but now he’s the one clinging onto those last strands.

Prince Harry, If he asked me for advice today, I’d tell him to take control. Either shave it down to a grade one or two and see how he feels, or go for the transplant while he’s still young enough to make it look natural. He’s got plenty of donor hair at the sides, so a transplant would work well for him. And if he decided to go fully bald? His beard would still keep him looking sharp.

Embrace The Change

Prince Harry, I understand why he’s holding on. Hair is a big part of identity—it’s our shield, our signature. And Harry used to have that thick, fiery red hair that was instantly recognizable. But those last wisps? They take away from his presence rather than adding to it.

If he were sitting in my chair, I’d tell him: “Let it go.” Holding onto those strands is more psychological than anything else. Freeing himself from it could be a huge relief, both mentally and stylistically.

Prince Harry, As for me? Friends have tried to convince me to get a transplant, but at 69, I’m used to my baldness. At this stage, it might look a bit odd—like pairing Botox with a full head of hair. But for Harry? He’s got options. And if he made a change, I think he’d love it. And I bet Meghan would too.

At the end of the day, it’s about what makes him happy. But if I had one piece of advice, it would be this: Stop hanging onto the wisps, Harry—it’s time to move on.
